The Stylist’s Stamp – General

Q: How do I schedule an appointment? How far in advance should I book?

A: Appointments can be made by calling 07410529442 or filling out the Contact Me form. I suggest booking your appointment at least 2-3 weeks in advance. However, I’m happy to accommodate short notice requests whenever possible.

Q: Do you offer any discounts?

A: Yes! I frequently post promotions and discounts on The Stylist’s Stamp Facebook, Blog and Twitter feeds.

Q: Do you offer gift certificates?

A: Yes. Gift certificates are available in any denomination, and can be used toward the purchase of any of The Stylist’s Stamp’s services. Use the Contact Me form with your gift certificate request. Gift certificates are non-refundable and subject to Terms and Conditions.

Q: How do I pay you?

A: The Stylist’s Stamp offers secure online payment (credit card, debit card, or e-check) via Intuit.

Q: Do you offer appointments in the evenings? What about on weekends?

A: The Stylist’s Stamp offer appointments seven days a week. Please click here to learn more about my hours and other policies.

Q: Do you offer services and appointments on holidays?

A: The Stylist’s Stamps does not offer services on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or New Year’s Day.

Q: What happens if I need to cancel?

A: Appointments cancelled with 48 hours notice will be refunded in full, minus any PayPal or credit card fees.

A £40 cancellation fee will apply to cancellations with less than 48 hours notice prior to the scheduled appointment, (this is deducted from your payment).

Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice can be rescheduled, subject to availability. The Stylist’s Stamps Gift certificates are non-refundable, but services purchased with a gift certificate may be rescheduled to another date.

 

Shopping & Styling

Q: What kind of experience can I expect?

A: I have a fashion degree and years of experience in both design and personal styling. For more information visit the About Me page.

Q: Do you do alterations?

A: No, I do not offer in-house alterations. However, I will offer advice on which alterations may be necessary for the garments you have chosen.

Q: How much time should I allow for my appointment?

A: Half day and full day services are a good starting point, especially if your project is more involved (Wedding Bells / Bridal Styling packages, Wardrobe Weeding, Corporate Styling and Personal Branding) etc. However, if you are using a promotion or booking a follow up appointment, 2 – 4 hour slots are available and charged at an hourly rate. Based on your initial consultation, I’ll provide an estimate but the amount of time you allow for your appointment is ultimately up to you.

Q: When should I hire a stylist?

A: Employing a personal stylist can be advantageous at any time, especially if you’re looking to update your look or are anticipating a special event. My clients hire me for a variety of reasons, including weddings, anniversaries, job interviews, graduations, dating, weight loss/gain, pregnancy, post-divorce, as well as general wardrobe updating. The Stylist’s Stamp offers advance personal shopping and styling appointments, as well as same-day on – location styling.

Q: What are the benefits of working with a stylist?

A: You will gain confidence through your appearance and how you are perceived. Beauty is skin deep but the way you look and feel will ultimately play a role in your success. By working with me, you’ll receive friendly, professional advice, and we’ll collaborate to create a look that works for you.

Q: Can I bring my Mum / boyfriend / best friend to my appointment?

A: Probably not. Styling sessions at The Stylist’s Stamp are designed to provide one-on-one attention, and I find that appointments tend to be more productive without family and friends in tow. However, I do make an exception for Wedding Bells and Bridal Styling clients, as I realise that opinions from your wedding party are important.
Clients under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

 

What to expect on the day

1. Organisation

All styling sessions begin with a pre-appointment style analysis. Clients are asked to complete a detailed questionnaire, which helps provide insight into your specific needs and goals. You’ll be asked to answer questions such as “How do you typically dress for work?” and “What kind of free time activities do you enjoy?” You’ll also be asked to provide sizes and measurements.

Based on your responses, I will select a store that fits your needs and budget. Most styling appointments take place in large department stores, as these retailers offer multiple brands, sizes, styles, and price points, and sell shoes and accessories in addition to clothing. Holding the styling session in a department store (as opposed to a small shop or boutique) allows for maximum shopping and styling time, without losing time for transit between stores. In addition, most large department stores offer comfortable private fitting rooms that are made available to stylists.

2. Personal Focus

During your personal styling session, you will be free to relax whilst trying things on and enjoy in-depth fashion advice. You’ll have ample time to ask questions and to learn about the best brands, cuts, styles, and colours for your body type and lifestyle. I can also help you to accessorize your new look and your existing wardrobe.

For those who want to spend less time shopping and skip right to the “trying on” part, I can visit the store in advance of the session and choose a rack of clothing specifically for you. Although there is a small additional fee for this service, most styling clients feel that it adds greatly to their personal styling experience.

3. Experimentation

I will encourage you to experiment with pieces you might not ordinarily choose, but I will never insist you purchase something you don’t love. In fact, because The Stylist’s Stamp is an independent company and is not affiliated with any specific store, you are under no obligation to purchase during the appointment, although I do hope you’ll find at least a few new pieces to add to your wardrobe!

4. Dedication

At the end of the session, I will be happy to suggest other stores or designers to help continue the evolution of your look.

I encourage clients to keep me updated on their progress, and to email with any future shopping dilemmas. First time styling clients also receive a “friends and family” discount which they can use for their future session or pass along. I aim to provide a friendly, low-pressure approach to personal shopping and fashion. I work with men and women of all ages, shapes, sizes, and budgets. Instead of committing to a half or full day session, promotional services are offered by the hour, with a minimum commitment of just two hours.
